Why must all parties making the decision be present for the entire appointment?

How can I remove dried glue from my laminate flooring?
Dried glue can be removed from laminate flooring using an organic solvent such as white spirit or thinner. Never use cleaning solvent directly on product and spot test in a discrete area before cleaning. Always review your warranty’s condition and exclusions prior to using any solvents.
How do I remove stains from carpet?

How can I repair scratch marks and chips on laminate flooring?
For scratch marks and minor repairs, approved laminate floor filler may correct minor damages. More serious damages may require replacing a plank.
How do I clean my flooring product?
- For carpet maintenance, it is essential to regularly vacuum. To maintain stain warranty coverage, carpet must be professional cleaned every 24 months from installation.
- For ceramic floor maintenance, do not use any abrasive cleaning product. Ceramic flooring can be cleaned by following cleaning directions on solvents specifically approved to clean tile.
- For hardwood flooring maintenance, a lightly moist mop and a simple cleaning solution made with vinegar and water may be used. Following cleaning directions on solvents specifically approved to hardwood flooring can also be tried.
- For daily laminate flooring maintenance, a dry dusting with a microfiber cloth is suggested. For occasional cleaning, lightly water spray a microfiber cloth. If using a cleaning solvent, only use a laminate flooring recommended cleaning solvent. Always review your warranty’s conditions and exclusions prior to using any solvents.

What type of warranty is offered on carpet?
Empire Today guarantees the installation on all of our carpet for one full year.
Why is my carpet shedding?
It is not uncommon for new carpet to shed for up to 120 days. The main reason for carpet shedding is due to loose fiber left from the milling process. It is recommended that the carpet be vacuumed frequently to eliminate or minimize the shedding.

Does Empire Today carry hardwood flooring?
In most markets Empire Today offers a wide variety of solid and engineered hardwood flooring, which is suitable for many installation applications. Hardwood flooring is suitable for many installation applications. We also offer a 3/4" solid floor in select markets. Whatever your needs, Empire can supply flooring for you. Ask your Customer Care representative which products are available in your area.
Can my hardwood floor be refinished?
Empire Today hardwood flooring is designed for long-term durability. All hardwood flooring may at some time require refinishing depending on age, wear and tear. A traditional refinish refers to the process of stripping your floor and re-applying or changing the stain color. All Empire hardwood flooring allows for “screen and recoats,” which is a process similar to a refinish but much less disruptive. A “screen and recoat” allows the finish of the flooring to be restored to its original look without all of the mess of sanding and buffing.

Bamboo flooring is one of the most environmentally-friendly ‘green’ flooring products on the market today. How is bamboo flooring cleaned?
For all wood and wood-like flooring, wet spills should be wiped up immediately to prevent warping. A dry mop at least once a week should be used to maintain shine. When using cleaning agents specially formulated for bamboo flooring, it is important to follow the recommended manufacturers’ directions for use. A damp, soft material should be used for cleaning spills, scuff marks or foreign matter that will require a more thorough cleaning.
Is bamboo flooring subject to moisture?

Vinyl Flooring
How is vinyl flooring installed?
Empire Today’s trained installers use manufacturer-approved underlayments and adhesives to complete the detailed installation process for this product. Your sales representative can provide more detail regarding the process.
What is the recommended cleaning process for vinyl flooring?
The following cleaning recommendations should be used only after familiarizing yourself with the manufacturers’ care and maintenance warranties. Important Note: Sharp objects should never be used on vinyl flooring. Cleaning recommendations that involve odorless mineral spirits and isopropyl alcohol should be read and carefully followed, due to the flammability of the solvents. Keep traffic clear of the treated area for a minimum of 30 minutes.
Stains and Spills:
· Option #1- Clean area with a designated vinyl flooring cleaner
· Option #2- Rub the area with isopropyl alcohol
· Option #3- For rust stains, use lemon juice or a cream of tarter solution
Paint and Solvent Spills:
· Option #1- Clean area with a designated vinyl flooring cleaner
· Option #2- Rub lightly with odorless mineral spirits or paint thinner
Substances that will not wipe off (i.e., candle wax, adhesives, chewing gum):

What do I have to do to maintain my vinyl flooring after installation?
After your vinyl flooring installation:
- Traffic should be kept to a minimum during the first 48 hours
- Loose dirt should be swept from the floor
- Wash the floor with a non abrasive floor cleaner; DO NOT USE THE FOLLOWING: soap based detergents, abrasive or mop shine products, ammonias or bleaches, or vacuums with rotating beater bars
- Ensure that furniture legs and/or appliances have large surface, non-staining floor protectors
Does vinyl flooring fade?
Almost all flooring shows some damage when exposed to direct sunlight over time. To avoid the effects of direct sun damage, drape or shade any windows that will expose the flooring to direct sunlight, and please be sure to consult your manufacturers’ warranties for further details.
Do we carry Congoleum®, Mannington®, Armstrong® or Solarium®?
These are all brand names for resilient or vinyl flooring. We carry vinyl flooring containing Flexitac®, a resilient, flexible, quick-to-install material, which is very moisture resistant. Your sales representative can provide you with our full range of samples to look at with additional information.
Is staining covered under my warranty?
Your sales representative can provide further details on product warranties.
Can a floor cover such as a welcome mat or an area rug be placed on vinyl flooring?
We recommend that you thoroughly read all warranty information prior to placing any rugs or mats on the floor. Rubber-backed rugs or non-ventilated rugs are not recommended for these types of floors.
Is vinyl flooring water resistant?
The product that we install is extremely water resistant; your sales representative can provide you with further details.
Does vinyl flooring come in different styles and patterns?

Does the existing flooring have to be removed?
An assessment can be made on a case-by-case basis. In some instances, an existing floor may need to be removed. Other instances may be able to accommodate a new floor installation over an existing floor. Your sales representative can discuss floor removal options during the visit.
What is the difference between resilient flooring and vinyl flooring?
Resilient flooring is a category that includes vinyl flooring. The word resilient refers to the flooring material’s performance attributes.
Is vinyl flooring scratch resistant?
Vinyl flooring is not scratch resistant. However Flexitec® contains a durable “super guard” finish which offers better protection against scrapes and stains.
How long does it take to install vinyl flooring?
Vinyl floor installations are normally completed within two business days, depending on size of the room and floor preparation requirements.
Will seams be noticeable on my vinyl floor?

How do I maintain my new Empire Today bath liner?
Acrylic Cleaning Instructions:
1. Dampen a soft cloth with cleaner.
2. Wipe wall and tub.
3. Rinse well with clean, warm water.
4. Silicone seal needs to be cleaned in the same manner.
Do use: Glass Plus®, 409®, Fantastik®, Scrub Free®, Soft Scrub®, vinegar and water, 10% bleach/90% water, or speciality products provided by your installer.
Do clean: with a sponge safe for non-stick cookware or use a soft brush on a slip-resistant bottom.
Don't use: Anything that is not safe for acrylic, any product that is "left on" the acrylic, aerosol propellants (Dow Scrubbing Bubbles®), Ammonia-D, some Windex® products, acetone (nail polish remover), scouring pads, powder or crystal drain clearners - these will void your warranty.
Do call: Empire, if repairs are needed, to help a dull surface or fix minor scratches.
